Preseli Hills Bluestone Quarry, Wales
Preseli Hills Bluestone Quarry, Wales — The outcrops at Carn Goedog in the Preseli Hills have been identified as the source of Stonehenge's spotted dolerite bluestones. Excavations here found evidence of organized quarrying with stone wedges, and an incomplete monolith still attached to the rock face suggests the work was abandoned mid-operation. © Tony Holkham, CC BY 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons
