Stonehenge at Dusk, Wiltshire, England — The monument's silhouette against an English sunset conveys the sheer scale of the individual sarsens, each weighing up to 25 tonnes and standing up to 9 meters tall including the buried portion. The stones were deliberately shaped by Neolithic craftsmen using stone mauls, leaving smooth outer faces and roughly dressed inner ones.
